Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) is a statutory contribution carried out for the benefit labourers in order to provide medical care provide social security, educational, recreational, accident benefits, funeral expenses and housing facilities for the worker's familes and raise their standard of living. This is the initiative of Government of India to improve the living conditions of workers. Out of 36 states and union territories, the act has been implemented only in 16 of them. Based on the Act, both employer and employee have to make contribution towards the Fund. The Labour Welfare Fund contribution vary from state to state.
