Minimum Wage Revision in Andhra Pradesh
The Government of Andhra Pradesh vide Gazette Notification dated 26-Apr-2024, notified the minimum wages effective from 1-Apr-2024 for 66 scheduled employments including shops and commercial establishments.
Tax on Professions Amendment of due dates in various States
The Government of Maharashtra vide Gazette Notification No.14/3 dated 24-Apr-2024 extended the due date of the returns which could not be filed due to technical difficulties before 31-Mar-2024, can now be filed on or before 30-Apr-2024, without the applicability of late fees.
The Government of West Bengal vide Order dated 25-Apr-2024, extended the due date for filing of annual return from 30-Apr-2024 to 15-May-2024 (electronically) and 30-May-2024 by paper form.
Declaration of paid holiday due to Lok Sabha elections
The Election Commission of India on account of General Elections as per their respective phase wise schedules in the registered Constituencies in the States/UTs declared paid holiday in several states, few of the notifications are as follows:

Apprentice Rules Amendment 2024
The Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship vide Gazette Notification dated 19-Apr-2024, notified the amendment to the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, inter-alia, including computer trade prescribing the apprentice period for programmers and system administrators.
Haryana State Labour Commissioner vide letter dated 16-Apr-2024, notified the list of disabilities permissible to different trades including the computer programmer assistant trade under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Rescheduling working hours due to Heat Wave in Pondicherry
The Government of Pondicherry, vide Circular No.2130 dated 16-Apr-2024, issued health advisory to inter alia reschedule working hours of employees, providing drinking water, schedule outdoor jobs to cooler times of the day i.e., morning and evening hours, increase in frequency and length of rest breaks for outdoor activities etc.
EPFO Auto Claim Processing enhanced to INR 1 Lakh
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation vide Circular No. WSU/E-13719/697 dated 16-Apr-2024, enhanced the limit of auto claim settlements under Para 68J from INR 50,000/- to INR 1,00,000/- with effect from 10-Apr-2024.
