Bihar - The Government of Bihar has issued Vide notification No.5/MW-40-16/2021 regarding revision of minimum wages for various scheduled employment with effect from 1st April 2026.

Gujarat - The Government of Gujarat has issued Vide Serial No.Sr.A.6/T.3/2026/142 to 164 regarding revision of Special Allowances for various scheduled employment with effect from 1st April 2026.

Telangana - The Government of Telangana has issued Pressnote regarding revision of Minimum Wages for various scheduled employment with effect from 1st April 2026.

Haryana - The Government of Haryana has issued notification Vide No. 2/25/26-2 Lab regarding revision of Minimum Wages for various scheduled employment with effect from 1st April 2026.

Uttar Pradesh - The Government of Uttar Pradesh has issued notification Vide No. 374/36-2-2026-2041256 regarding revision of Minimum Wages for various scheduled employment with effect from 1st April 2026.

Uttarakhand - The Government of Uttarakhand has issued notifications Vide No. 1101/4-01/25 and Vide No.1203/4-01/2024 regarding revision of Minimum Wages for Engineering Industry & other scheduled employments with effect from 1st February 2026 & 1st April 2026 respectively.

Notification regarding amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Factories Rules, 1962

The Government of Madhya Pradesh Vide No.64-2026-A-XVI, has released Notification regarding amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Factories Rules, 1962. amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Factories Rules, 1962 strengthens worker safety by prohibiting the employment of pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescents, and children in hazardous processes, including operations involving lead, toxic chemicals, and other dangerous industrial activities. It reinforces maternity protections, explicitly barring employment practices that violate maternity benefit laws and safeguarding women from adverse treatment during pregnancy and for six months of the lactation period.

Notification regarding clarification regarding the registration of Establishments

The Government of Maharashtra Vide Government Circular No. OSH-2026/C.R.40/Labour-10, has released Notification regarding clarification regarding the registration of Establishments under the OSH Code 2020 & Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act,2017. Establishments employing 10 or more workers need only one registration under the OSH Code, 2020, which is deemed sufficient and no separate registration under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017 is required due to the primacy of

central law. Other provisions of the Maharashtra Shops Act continue to apply only where they are not inconsistent with the OSH Code. Establishments with less than 10 workers must merely intimate commencement of business under Section 7 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017.

Odisha
The Odisha State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment (Repeal) Ordinance, 2026

The Government Odisha Vide No.5969-I-Legis-22/2026/L, has released the Odisha State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment (Repeal) Ordinance, 2026. It repeals the Odisha Profession Tax Act, 2000, using the Governor’s ordinance‑making powers as the State Legislature was not in session. The repeal comes into effect from 1st April 2026, thereby discontinuing the levy of profession tax in the State prospectively.
However, the ordinance protects past actions by saving earlier assessments, payments, liabilities, arrears, and ongoing legal proceedings, which will continue as if the Act had not been repealed
