Extension of due date for Compulsory Gratuity Insurance in Karnataka.
The Government of Karnataka vide Circular dated 10-Jul-2024, notified the extension of due date for obtaining compulsory gratuity insurance in Karnataka from 60 days to 6 months. The Karnataka Compulsory Gratuity Insurance Rules, 2024 was effective from 10-Jan-2024 and after the extension the due date for getting an insurance is extended to 10-Jul-2024 and due date for filing of Form-I and III is now extended to 30 days from the date of obtaining insurance, i.e., 10-Aug-2024.
Minimum Wages Notification in States.
Government of Jharkhand vide Order dated 28-Jun-2024, notified the minimum wages applicable in respect of categories of contract labour employment.
Government of Assam vide Notification dated 10-Jul-2024, notified minimum wages applicable in respect of categories of employment.
Notification of bye election holidays in certain States.
Government of Haryana vide Circular dated 05-Jul-2024, notified holiday to employees who are enrolled as voters in bye elections to two constituencies of Uttarakhand and one constituency of Punjab on 10-Jul-2024.
Government of Himachal Pradesh vide Circular dated 02-Jul-2024, notified holiday to employees who are enrolled as voters in bye elections to two constituencies of Uttarakhand and one constituency of Punjab on 10-Jul-2024.
Government of Punjab vide Circular dated 24-Jun-24 notified holiday to employees who are enrolled as voters in bye elections to one constituency of Punjab on 10-Jul-2024.
Rajasthan amendments to Shops and Establishment
The Government of Rajasthan vide Order dated 20-Jun-2024 permitted women employees to be employed during night shifts subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification therein.
The Government of Rajasthan vide Order dated 20-Jun-2024 notified that Shops and Establishments can remain open 365 days of the year subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification therein.
Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Amendment of Act and Rules
The Government of Tamil Nadu vide Gazette Notification dated 02-Jul-2024 amended the provisions related to the Shops and Establishment inter-alia providing forms for registration of establishments and registers to be maintained. The Tamil Nadu Government vide Gazette Notification dated 02-Jul-2024, also notified the effective date for notifying the provisions Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2018 as 02-Jul-2024.
EPFO notifications reducing the penalty/damages to 1%
The Central Government vide below Gazette Notification dated 14-Jun-2024, notified the reduction in penalties for delayed remittance of contributions
